In this layout IE6 uses a JQuery Library and a custom tailored script to make the fixed position sidebar behave as it does in modern browsers. It was a lot of work and much appreciation goes to Chris Rawlins for helping me with the script, Thanks Chris!
The header and footer must have fixed heights (either 'px' or 'em').
They are not designed for large amounts of fluid content.
